Build Facade Upgrade

We’re making great strides on our project at Latitude 52 in Plymouth, where BuildX is collaborating with Lancer Scott Ltd to upgrade the building’s façade. The installation of the Valcan® Evverlap VF1 non-combustible rainscreen cladding system is well underway, marking a significant step towards enhancing both the safety and aesthetic of this property.

This essential upgrade involves replacing the previously non-compliant timber cladding with a state-of-the-art cladding system that meets modern fire safety standards. Our team is delivering a comprehensive scope of works, which includes:

• New Membrane Installation: Providing a secure base for the cladding system.
• Metal Rail System: Supporting the rainscreen for long-term stability.
• 110mm Mineral Wool Insulation: Enhancing thermal efficiency and fire resistance.
• AIM Closed and Open-State Fire Breaks: Ensuring fire safety compliance.
• Polyester Powder-Coated Flashings and Trims: Adding durability and a polished finish.
• Evverlap Cement Board Plank Finish: Offering a sleek, modern aesthetic.
• Associated Builders Work and Remedials: Completing necessary adjustments and refinements.

This project is a testament to BuildX’s expertise in façade refurbishment, particularly in ensuring compliance with evolving safety standards.

Overcoming Challenges with Collaboration

As with many refurbishment projects, Latitude 52 has presented unique challenges, including inconsistencies in the existing construction, and limited as-built documentation.
